About

Serving the broader Jewish community at UM.

Inspired by the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schnneerson, Rabbi Mendy and Henchi Fellig established Chabad at University of Miami in 2001, with a grant from Moshe and Lilian Tabacinic. Chabad at University of Miami has since revolutionized Jewish life and observance at University of Miami.

In 2005 Chabad at University of Miami recruited Rabbi Yochanan and Esti Klein to open a Bikur Cholim/Patient Advocacy center to serve the Jewish community at UHealth and Jackson. See link below.

In 2005 UChabad as well purchased their current building to serve as a Home Away From Home for UM students.

In 2017 our dream of space on campus was realised. Suite 240 was born and serves as the office space and central meeting area for students (currently limited due to Corona)

In 2018 recognizing the growing needs of an expanding Jewish graduate student body and faculty, Rabbi Mendy & Henchi, reimagined their roles as Jewish leaders at UM and launched UChababd Grad/Faculty.

In 2019, Rabbi Shmuel and Mushkah Lipskier joined our team as the directors of the UChabad Undergraduate Division and have been rocking since. See link for more information.

Additionally Chabad is active with our nearly 20 years of Alumni, living worldwide.
